Opening event for the Healthy Workplaces Campaign in Austria

‘How do we want to work together?’: this question sets the tone for the opening of the ‘Together for mental health at work’ in Austria. Our focal point in the country, the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection tries to answer it at a hybrid event organised as part of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work.

The keynote address explores organisational culture as a resource for mental health, and what a supportive and appreciative workplace looks like in practice. Experts then go through the five Healthy Workplaces Campaign priority areas: psychosocial risk assessment and management, harassment and violence, physical risks and mental health, psychosocial risks in health and social care and supporting people with mental health conditions at work.

To finish, employers’ and workers’ representatives, the Austrian Workers’ Compensation Board (AUVA) and the focal point sit down together to discuss what these priorities mean for Austria and how to put them into practice.
