Seminar in Nicosia: Key OSH legislative updates and challenges

Experts are gathering in Cyprus to examine the laws and regulations shaping occupational safety and health (OSH) practices.

Organised by our focal point Department of Labour Inspection, Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, the event will provide a detailed overview of the institutional framework governing employee health surveillance. It will also highlight the methodology and importance of conducting comprehensive written assessments of occupational risks.

Remote work and the challenges of implementing OSH regulations are also on the agenda.

Attendees will explore legislation concerning seating and standing in workplaces, and the laws aimed at minimising physical strain experienced by employees, which is important in preventing long-term musculoskeletal issues.

The event will also cover the reporting and statistical analysis of occupational accidents, as well as updated measures concerning the prevention of accidents involving dangerous substances, petroleum products, LPG, pressure equipment and elevators.
