The Future of Smart and Effective Labour Inspections

Labour inspection systems across Europe are undergoing significant transformation. As work environments, technologies, and social expectations evolve, so too must the ways in which authorities monitor and enforce labour standards. In response to these challenges, The Future of Smart and Effective Labour Inspections brings together experts and professionals to explore how inspections can become more future-oriented, data-driven, and impactful.

Now in its sixth edition, the event aims to foster a shared understanding of how inspectorates are adapting to changing labour markets, recruitment challenges, and rising demands for transparency and effectiveness. By showcasing international experiences and encouraging interactive exchange, it contributes to shaping a modern vision for labour inspections.

The event is an important milestone within the national implementation of the EU-OSHA campaign "Healthy workplaces” 2023-2025, Safe and healthy work in the digital age. It reflects the importance of strengthening inspection practices as a key pillar in creating safer and healthier workplaces across Europe.

The objectives of the event include identifying new competencies needed for future inspectors, exploring strategies for improving the measurable impact of inspections, and examining the role of digital tools and research in supporting better decision-making. Rather than focusing solely on control, the event encourages a shift toward more strategic, knowledge-based, and preventive approaches.

Altogether, the event provides a valuable platform for collaborative learning and forward-looking ideas on how labour inspection can remain both effective and relevant in a rapidly changing world of work.
