Facilitating acceptance of AI-based systems in the workplace and minimising organisational impact

With any new technology implemented in the workplace, new occupational safety and health (OSH) risks for workers can emerge. Although some may be apparent during the installation process, others might only arise over time.

This policy brief discusses the benefits of resilience engineering. Monitoring critical components of the system consistently, identifying areas for improvement, responding to disruptions and learning from experience are all fundamental aspects of resilience engineering. They can be applied by companies to help workers accept and properly use new robotic systems or -based applications.
