Implementing advanced robotics and AI-based systems for task automation: drivers, barriers and recommendations
Outdated regulations and worker resistance can be barriers to the successful implementation of cobots in the workplace in terms of occupational safety and health (OSH). Nevertheless, companies that act early by focusing on improving cross-company communication, worker inclusion and experience, an regulatory awareness and dialogue have been shown to facilitate and improve the integration of these technologies.
This policy brief examines barriers and drivers for OSH as reported by different companies that have implemented or -based systems to automate tasks.
