European Aggregates Association (UEPG)
Mission Statement
Aggregates Europe – UEPG represents the European Aggregates Industry in Brussels, with Members in 25 countries, lobbying European institutions & stakeholders on issues key to the industry. Our vision is a Sustainable Industry for a Sustainable Europe. Our mission is to be the Industry Champion and a trusted Partner. Aggregates Europe – UEPG Core Values are to be Open, Transparent and Honest.
In addition, our Association regularly produces Health & Safety Tool boxes on various topics, which collect and highlight best practices from Members and promote guiding principles.
Aggregates Europe – UEPG promotes the demand of the European Aggregates Industry for safer and healthier machines and equipment. Our Association addresses the design vacuum that often exists between the manufacturers and users of mobile plant used in quarry extraction and processing, by promoting the guidance ‘Safer by design’.
This guidance recommends core safety requirements on Access systems, Visibility, Safety & Security, Maintenance, Environment & Health for off-road mobile plant ranging from excavators, dump-trucks, loaders, bulldozers, to mobile crushing & screening equipment.
Aggregates Europe – UEPG is an Official Member of the European Commission’s Machinery Expert Group, echoing the demands of the largest extractive Industry in Europe.
Aggregates Europe – UEPG is an Official Partner of the Healthy Workplaces Campaigns of EU-OSHA, the European Union information agency for occupational safety and health.

Aggregates Europe – UEPG supports the European Aggregates Industry in promoting the Vision Zero, the strategy that eliminates the cause of fatalities, injuries and ill health from our workplaces, as well as that protects the public from any harm arising out of our activities.
In doing so, UEPG aims to create a working environment that keeps pace with the technologies of our time by adopting a human-in-command-approach and by seeking to improve the technological environment of the Extractive industry workers through the use of machines and the automation of safety systems.
