Automation of cognitive and physical tasks in health and social care sector: implications for safety and health
The use of and robotics for the of physical and cognitive tasks in the health and social care sector presents several opportunities for the reduction of occupational safety and health risks (OSH). However, it may also raise other potential negative OSH implications such as fear of job loss or an increased exposure to safety risks due to an overreliance on technology.
Based on a literature review and selected good practice examples, this study highlights important aspects of the use of and in the sector and provides recommendations to ensure adequate OSH when introducing the of physical and cognitive tasks in the HeSCare sector.
