The EU-OSHA media partners’ online gathering has brought together a dynamic network of journalists and editors specialising in occupational safety and health (OSH) for a lively session.

Participants tuned in for various presentations on the latest OSH trends and promotional strategies. EU-OSHA Executive Director, William Cockburn, provided an insightful overview of how shifting political priorities in Europe are influencing the Agency's work. Vibe Westh, Head of EU-OSHA Prevention and Research Unit, examined the significant impact of digitalisation on workers' mental health, emphasising the importance of proactive measures to address psychosocial risks associated with emerging technologies, supported by recent research findings.

Rory Harrington, Head of EU-OSHA Communication and Promotion Unit, discussed the development of a new corporate communication strategy, highlighting the essential role of media partners and the establishment of a robust OSH media community.

The gathering also showcased successful promotional efforts presented by media partners ADAPT and Health & Safety Review. ADAPT shared strategies for expanding outreach via multiple social media accounts and newsletters, while Health & Safety Review discussed leveraging their magazine to underline key safety topics and support campaign activities. These examples illustrated the diverse approaches media partners are taking to help promoting EU-OSHA's messages.

EU-OSHA Communication Officer Nataliya Dimitrova also drew attention to the significant role of social media and plans to further develop these platforms to enhance the visibility and dissemination of the OSH message. Given the importance of the ongoing European Week for Safety and Health at Work, media partners were encouraged to utilise social channels to spotlight relevant OSH issues.

The event included experts from across Europe, comprising both long-standing members and new supporters, fostering a collaborative atmosphere aimed at enhancing OSH coverage.
