Smart digital systems for safer and healthier workplaces: webinar in Portugal

On 21 October, a webinar is organised in Portugal to examine how smart digital systems are transforming occupational safety and health (OSH) in the age of Industry 4.0.

The event is hosted by Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho, our focal point in Portugal, and focuses on how , combining , , the Internet of Things, robotics and advanced analytics, can improve risk assessment, prevention and control in the workplace.

Experts from academia and industry explore practical applications of digital innovation, as well as discussing challenges, such as data ethics and workforce training and share examples of successful integration in industrial settings.

The webinar is organised in the context of European Week for Safety and Health at Work.

Moderator:

  • Emília Telo, Coordinator of the National Focal Point of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, Authority for Working Conditions

AI-based systems can be purely software-based, acting in the virtual world (e.g. voice assistants, image analysis software, search engines, speech and face recognition systems) or AI can be embedded in hardware devices (e.g. advanced robots, autonomous cars, drones or Internet of things applications). , Use of systems or technical procedures to allow a device or system to execute (partially or fully) a function that was previously, or conceivably could be, carried out (partially or fully) by a human. , the Internet of Things, robotics and advanced analytics, can improve risk assessment, prevention and control in the workplace.
