Mission Statement
The National Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INSST) is the scientific and technical body of the State General Administration, with the following functions: promotions of prevention, technical advice, development of specific tools for micro and small enterprises, research, information and training on the occupational risks issues, as well as coordination of the Public Administrations with competences on prevention matters.
With regard to the European Union institutions and in particular with the European Agency and its Network, it acts as the national focal point, to guarantee the coordination and dissemination of information at national level.
INSST supports the implementation of the EU-OSHA’s annual management plan and carries out the tasks included in its work plan provided for each year. It also supports European Campaigns, promoting and coordinating at national level the events that take place during the European Week. INSST promotes the WPA and selects the best examples at national level. INSST also coordinates the Spanish Network for Safety and Health at Work, and administrates its website.
