This year CEMBUREAU and the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) concluded a two-year project on mapping the skills needed in the cement industry by 2030 and 2050. For this occasion, policy recommendations were launched based on common work and study. It appears that Health and Safety in the digital age was one of the top focuses for future skills within the sector.

Recommendations highlighted the need to engage collaboratively in dialogue to achieve agreements on training and education, and on occupational and health measures for new technologies. In addition, integrating occupational health and safety competencies into all curricula was emphasized.

In conclusion, meaningful involvement of both social partners in addressing decarbonisation, skills, training, occupational health and safety is essential to building and gaining acceptance for these transformative changes.

As an official partner of the EU-OSHA campaign on digital age, CEMBUREAU made the link with the campaign and its focuses, highlighting the opportunities and risks of digitalisation with all information, expertise and experience shared.
