As campaign partner to the EU-OSHA 'Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2023-25', PostEurop, the Association of European Public Postal Operators AISBL, is glad to share an update on their pivotal role in the DigiGreeN Post 'Towards a more Digital & Greener Postal Era' project.

The project is built on the wider goal to bring resilience to the postal industry by providing and opportunities for postal employees in green and digital competencies.

In the past months, its key milestones have started to take shape, thanks to the invaluable efforts of the consortium, which includes 13 organisations over 6 EU countries. In particular, the training needs analysis has been central in the individualisation of the skills gap in the sector; through the mapping of postal employees' responses to questionnaires and interviews, the training needs analysis finally shows that digitalisation, strategic planning and the development of green practices are the most required training areas.

Thus, two curricula of e-learning courses on digital and green competencies have been developed. They comprise a wide range of learning units, from digital transformation foundations to in the postal sector, for what concerns the digital module, and from green fundamentals to innovation in green postal operations, for the sustainability one.

The preparation sessions involving the trainers who are going to deliver the courses are already taking place, thanks to the arrangement of four training of trainers (ToT) on the specific themes of the formation: the full courses content, how to use e-learning platform and the Work Based Learning scheme (WBL), the Micro-credentials and Individual Learning Accounts (ILAs), and the examination platform.

These trainings will be implemented in three main phases, stretching from January to April 2025:

  • e-learning, directed at 600 postal employees

  • Face2face sessions, involving 150 employees

  • Work Based Learning, delivered to 45 employees

Hosted across three partner countries, Ireland, Greece, and Romania, these sessions will play a crucial role in deepening knowledge and awareness of the challenges facing the postal sector foreseeing the digital and green transition. Learners will gain a broad, transferable understanding of how to perform their roles effectively while staying adaptable to future changes. Additionally, the diverse learning approach will seamlessly integrate theoretical and practical methods, creating an innovative and engaging course that is accessible to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

Aligned with goals towards healthy work conditions in the digital era of the EU-OSHA campaign, the project promoted by PostEurop is an innovative initiative that promotes future-ready and schemes for the postal sector.

With the skills to embrace innovation, drive sustainability, and lead the way towards a digital and green transformation….

We shape a Smarter, Greener, and Resilient future of the postal era.
