The official campaign partner of the Healthy Workplaces Campaign (HWC) 2023-25 'Safe and healthy work in the digital age', the European Builders Confederation (EBC), together with collaborators of the BEEYONDERS project, hosted an online workshop to showcase how cutting-edge technologies can transform occupational safety and health (OSH) in the construction sector.

The event highlighted innovations ranging from autonomous robots and aerial drones to exoskeletons, wearable sensors, and digital twin solutions. These technologies aim to reduce physical strain, improve monitoring, and enhance safety in complex construction and maintenance environments.

Ioannis Anyfantis, Project Manager at EU-OSHA, spoke on the role of OSH in digital innovation, followed by presentations from technology developers such as Tecnalia, Hidromek, and STAM. Participants also heard real-world lessons from pilot sites in Spain, Finland and Italy, offering a closer look at how these solutions are being tested and adapted to industry needs.

Closing with an interactive exchange and participant feedback session, the programme underscored EBC’s commitment to ensuring that the digital transformation of construction places workers’ safety, health, and wellbeing at its centre.

This initiative contributes to the broader EU effort to align digitalisation with safe and sustainable practices, ensuring that innovation not only advances productivity but also strengthens worker protection.
