Innovation, AI and virtual reality applied to OSH in Prague

A seminar taking place during European Week for Safety and Health at Work explores how digitalisation, ( ) and virtual reality (VR) are transforming occupational safety and health (OSH).

In particular, it sheds light on the potential of VR to improve training in the construction sector by creating realistic and controlled learning environments, allowing workers to develop their skills without being exposed to real risks.

It also examines how digital technologies and are impacting OSH management and monitoring, improving accuracy and efficiency while introducing new challenges for data protection and human oversight. In this context, the Healthy Workplaces Campaign and its action for safe work in the digital age is presented.

The event, organised by our Czech focal point Ministerstvo práce a sociálních věcí combines theoretical insights with practical experience, offering the opportunity for participants to test virtual tools used for safety training and risk prevention.

AI-based systems can be purely software-based, acting in the virtual world (e.g. voice assistants, image analysis software, search engines, speech and face recognition systems) or AI can be embedded in hardware devices (e.g. advanced robots, autonomous cars, drones or Internet of things applications).
