Exploring wearables and the prevention of chemical exposure at work in Norway

As part of this year’s European Week for Safety and Health at Work, an event in Oslo explores the potential of digital innovation for occupational safety and health (OSH), with a particular focus on the prevention of chemical exposure.

Hosted by our Norwegian focal point, Arbeidstilsynet/The Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority, the event presents insights into workplace carcinogens and cancer incidence, emphasising the importance of cooperation between workplace actors.

Employers, workers, OSH professionals and social partners are introduced to the functioning of wearable technologies and their contribution to better mapping and assessment of chemical risks by delivering real-time data, identifying risks and supporting faster and more effective preventive measures.

Business perspectives are also included, with Aker Solution presenting its experience of using wearable devices to prevent exposure to dust.
