Examining the OSH potential of digitalisation in retail and logistics: Company visit in Riga

There is no better way to grasp how digital technologies can improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in companies than to witness it firsthand.

Within the framework of the latest edition of the Healthy Workplaces Campaign ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’, our focal point in Latvia, Valsts darba inspekcija, is hosting a visit to a local supermarket chain that has recently implemented digitalisation in its shops and warehouses. This visit aims to showcase the positive impact on the wellbeing of its workers and the potential benefits for the retail and logistics sectors.

The participants consist of engaged OSH professionals from companies participating in Latvia’s ‘Golden Helmet’ awards, an initiative organised by the focal point that recognises enterprises committed to enhancing working environments and conditions in the country.

During the visit, these representatives will explore both a digitalised shop and a warehouse. They will have the opportunity to exchange experiences regarding the use of digital technologies in the workplace and share best practices.

Speakers:

  • Linda Matisāne – State Labour Inspectorate
  • Reinis Plakanis – ‘Maxima Latvija’ representative
