Embracing digital tools for safer workplaces in Athens

An information and awareness-raising event is being organised in Athens by our Greek focal point, the Hellenic Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The seminar brings together members of the national occupational safety and health (OSH) network and staff from the Ministry to discuss the core themes of EU-OSHA's ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’ campaign and to introduce the new digital initiative, ‘O.P.S. Hridanos’.

The first part of the event provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of safety and health at work, along with an overview of EU and national legislation and strategies on the topic. It also includes a presentation of EU-OSHA's work in this area, including the Healthy Workplaces Campaign, Napo and other educational tools and audiovisual materials designed to promote workplace safety.

The seminar also explores the practical applications of digital technologies in OSH, highlighting smart systems already in use in workplaces and offering insights into the challenges posed by ( )-based systems for worker supervision and management.

The second half of the seminar focuses on the national digital project ‘O.P.S. Hridanos’, a digital information management system designed to support the digitalisation of the operations and services of the national OSH authorities. Participants gain detailed insights into the project’s objectives, phases and the e-tools that will be made freely available to OSH stakeholders.

The activity concludes with a discussion, encouraging participants to share their views, ask questions and propose ideas related to the topics presented.
