Mission Statement

The Health and Safety Authority has a very broad mandate across the areas of occupational safety and health, chemicals, market surveillance and accreditation as set out in over 200 Acts, regulations and international conventions. We are also a competent and/or designated national authority under several EU chemical and market surveillance regulations.

Our Vision: Healthy, safe and productive lives and enterprises

We want to realise a safe and healthy working life for people in Ireland and to foster an environment where businesses can grow and prosper. We want to see human health and safety protected by the safe supply, storage and use of chemicals and products in and out of work. We want to ensure that providers of services and products are accredited, thereby enhancing the confidence of their customers and clients.
