The Federation of Occupational Health Nurses within the European Union (FOHNEU), an official campaign partner of the Healthy Workplaces Campaign (HWC) 2023-25 'Safe and healthy work in the digital age', hosted its 8th International Congress on 2-3 October 2025 in Antwerp. The event brought together occupational health nurses, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration.

Among the wide-ranging sessions, particular attention was devoted to digital innovations in occupational health, exploring how digital tools, data-driven solutions, and emerging technologies, such as AI, can enhance workplace health management, improve prevention strategies, and support the evolving role of occupational health nurses.

The event also included a presentation on the current Healthy Workplaces Campaign by  Gavin Lonergan, Head of Communications & Customer Relations from the campaign’s Irish National Focal Point - Health and Safety Authority, and Ann Marie Gannon, Health & Safety Manager at Irish Distillers Midleton Distillery.

By placing digitalisation at the centre of discussions, the congress reflected FOHNEU’s commitment to ensuring that technological advances contribute not only to efficiency but also to safer, healthier, and more supportive workplaces.
