The national German Focal Point is located in the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) which is - as a federal authority - directly responsible to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).
The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) conducts research and development in the field of safety and health at work, promotes the transfer of knowledge into practice, advises policymakers and performs sovereign functions - under hazardous substances law, in product safety and with the health data archive.As a federal authority it is directly responsible to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).

The German Focal Point (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, BAuA) is organizing the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2026–2028 in cooperation with its national network of OSH stakeholders including social partners, inspectorates, accident insurances, the labour ministry and other relevant actors.
Mental Health is a fundamental issue within the BAuAs strategy and for many years one essential priority within the GDA (Gemeinsame Deutsche Arbeitsschutzstrate-gie), the national OSH strategy. Within the “Psyche Work Programme” of the GDA, supported by the relevant national stakeholders, actors and social partners (https://www.gda-portal.de/EN/GDA/Objectives/2019-2026 ), various tools and supportive material for enterprises have already been developed and a good network of experts has been established. We will use this important resource for the implementation of the HWC in Germany.
The national preparation started already at the end of March 2026. Therefore, potential new partners (e.g. health insurances) and existing partners were invited to the BAuA Berlin to discuss the possibilities for a joint national implementation of the HWC on Mental Health.
The national implementation in Germany will include among others:
- Official National Kick-Off Conference on April, 7th 2027 in Berlin
- Supporting and backing up campaign priorities through national and European evidence based knowledge as well as links and tools on LinkedIn
- Organization of national and transnational events on the different priority areas
- Dissemination of material and links via the FoPs Website https://www.osha.de and LinkedIn
- National implementation of the Good Practice Award
