Chemical risks and remote work in Bulgaria: Legal and practical insights

A seminar organised by our Bulgarian focal point, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (Bulgaria), brings together representatives from labour organisations, institutions and the government to discuss two highly relevant areas of occupational safety and health (OSH).

The first part of the event focuses on the proper handling and safe management of chemical agents and carcinogens in the workplace. Participants explore how exposure to dangerous substances affects worker health and the environment and what preventive measures can be implemented to reduce these risks.

The second part of the programme addresses remote work in the context of current legislative changes. Updates to the Bulgarian Labour Code and other regulations are presented and discussed, highlighting how these changes affect how remote work is managed, with implications for both employers and workers.

Moderator:

  • Petya Georeva, MD

Speakers:

  • Mr. Dobrin Ivanov, Executive Director of the Association of Industrial capital in Bulgaria
  • Mrs. Ekaterina Asenova, Executive Director "General Labour Inspectorate"
  • Eng. Lazar Kovacki, "Occupational Medicine" Ltd.
