Introducing the Healthy Workplaces Campaign to researchers of the Hellenic Geological and Mineral Research Authority

As digitalisation transforms workplaces worldwide, ensuring occupational safety and health (OSH) remains more critical than ever, including within the research community. The Hellenic Geological and Mineral Research Authority (E.A.G.M.E.), in collaboration with our Greek focal point Hellenic Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, will brief their employees on the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2023-2025 ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’.

The event will include an introduction to safety and health at work, outlining its basic principles and discussing the proposed strategies included in the Greek OSH Strategy 2022-2027.

A joint presentation will delve into the scope, targets and content of EU-OSHA's ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’, emphasising the advantages and challenges associated with digital technologies and systems used in the field of OSH and highlighting the campaign's key objectives and initiatives.

Experts will shed light on sedentary work, a growing problem in the digital era linked to the early development of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Practical ergonomic solutions and tips will be offered to prevent and manage these issues effectively.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the Napo website, which provides educational materials such as films and training content. These resources are popular tools for promoting safe and healthy workplaces in a simple way and will be showcased for their educational value.

The topic of psychosocial risks in the workplace and their impact on workers' mental health will also be addressed. This presentation will highlight the connection between these risks and the adoption of digital technologies, underscoring the importance of mental health in the digital age.

A general overview of smart digital systems and tools in the workplace will follow, showcasing successful applications in various industries. This will illustrate how technology can enhance OSH practices, demonstrating the practical benefits of digital transformation in ensuring workplace safety.

The event will conclude with a live discussion session, allowing participants to engage with the speakers on various topics of interest. This dialogue aims to raise awareness and address specific concerns related to workplace safety in the digital age.
