Towards transparency: smart digital systems for improving workers’ safety and health
Data collected and analysed through monitoring systems using digital technologies can improve worker safety and health, but they also present concerns. This policy brief addresses issues of data privacy and other potential negative implications for workers with the use of these systems.
Measures that can be used include incorporating privacy at the design stage and allowing workers to consent to data access when necessary, such as in the event of emergencies.
