Digitalisation, AI and the future of workplace safety in Bulgaria

A regional seminar in Bulgaria examines how digitalisation, with a focus on artificial intelligence, has an impact on occupational safety and health (OSH) and working conditions.

The programme addresses the European legislative framework and policies in this field, along with the risks identified in EU-OSHA’s research. It goes beyond technical aspects to highlight the psychosocial effects of digitalisation linked to heavier workloads, reduced autonomy and social isolation. In this context, the ‘right to disconnect’ is also explored.

Other topics include OSH challenges linked to climate change and the responsibilities of employers in maintaining safe and healthy workplaces.

The event is organised by the Confederation of Labour ‘Podkrepa’ in collaboration with our focal point, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (Bulgaria). It is targeted at trade union representatives, OSH professionals, employers and policy-makers.
