National Institute for R&D for Optoelectronics INOE 2000
Romania
Who we are
The National Institute of Research and Development for Optoelectronics (INOE 2000) was established in 1996. The institute develops fundamental and applied research in the field of optoelectronics, analytical chemistry and mechanical engineering, aligning itself with the vital scientific directions of the European Research Area.
INOE 2000 comprises six research departments, two certified test laboratories and two legal subsidiaries, the Research Institute for Analytical Instrumentation (ICIA) and Hydraulics and Pneumatics Research Institute (IHP), each carrying out theoretical and applied research activities.
Since 2008, the institute has hosted the Enterprise Europe Network, with its Technology Transfer Center CENTI department serving as a Network partner. CENTI drives innovation across the Bioeconomy, Energy, Environment & Climate Change and Health sectors through two strategic pillars:
Pillar 1: R&D Promotion & Valorisation – Advancing the impact of R&D results from both host research institute and other research entities through proactive promotion and commercialization strategies.
Pillar 2: SME Innovation & Growth – Providing a support ecosystem for SMEs and start-ups, including technology transfer, IP advisory, funding guidance, and international market expansion through brokerage events, fairs and trade missions.
Since 2011, INOE 2000 has hosted a nominated EEN OSH Ambassador, actively promoting the 'Healthy Workplaces' campaigns.
Since 2025, as an Euraxess Centre, INOE 2000 has strengthened its international presence, focusing on the advancement of researcher mobility and career advancement through:
- Strategic Researcher Support: Providing information on cross-border mobility and European funding opportunities.
- Collaborative Networking: Engaging in EURAXESS initiatives and events to implement best international practices in human resource management and professional development for the research community.
